Medical Data Reports for the State of Arizona

The Medical Data Reports for the State of Arizona are prepared by the National Council on Compensation Insurance ("NCCI") for those who may be interested in the increasing medical costs in workers compensation claims. According to NCCI, the information in these reports provides important benchmarks against which cost containment strategies may be measured and gives valuable insight into the medical cost drivers that threaten the financial soundness of the workers compensation system.

These reports break down services by the following categories:
  • Physician
  • Hospital
  • Ambulatory Surgical Centers
  • Drugs
  • Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Supplies, and Implants
  • Other
Information is presented in each category to demonstrate which particular procedures represent the greatest share of payments and which are performed the most. These reports also provide details on payments for prescription drugs, including which are being prescribed the most, which ones represent the greatest share of drug payments, and information on repackaged drugs.

Specific caveats concerning information contained in these reports are published in the introduction to the reports.
